Tidio's Free Plan Stops at 50 Conversations a Month

Ten seats and fifty conversations is an odd shape. The seat count suggests a team; the conversation cap suits a very small shop.

Tidio's free plan includes 50 billable conversations per month, 10 seats, live chat and ticketing, basic analytics and one-off trial allowances of 50 Lyro AI conversations and 100 Flow visitors. Starter at $24.17 a month raises the limit to 100 conversations, Growth from $49.17, and the quota refreshes every 30 days from signup.1

The seat count is the surprise. Ten seats at zero cost is among the most generous in this category; the conversation cap is among the more restrictive.

That pairing is deliberate. Tidio wants teams inside the product and expects conversation volume to push them out of it.

Growth starts at $49.17 for 250 conversations, and the top of the published ladder runs to 2,000 before custom quoting.

Fifty conversations is less than two a day

The cap counts conversations in which a human agent sends at least one reply. A thread with twenty messages is still one conversation.

That definition is fair. The number is not generous. Fifty a month is under two per working day.

The allowance refreshes every 30 days from the moment you signed up, not on the first of the month, which is worth knowing when you plan.

The AI allowance is one-off, not monthly

Fifty Lyro conversations and 100 Flow visitors are granted once, not renewed each month. The pricing table states this plainly but the plan cards do not.

Read carefully, free includes a trial of the automation rather than automation itself. Anyone assuming a monthly AI refresh will hit a wall in month two.

Starter's "50 Lyro AI Agent conversations" is likewise listed as a one-off inclusion against the starter quota.

Ten seats with fifty conversations

Ten seats is more than most small support teams need and far more than the conversation cap implies.

It does make Tidio viable for a company where many people occasionally step in, such as a founder-led shop where everyone answers a chat now and then.

It also means the constraint is volume, never headcount. That is a clean, understandable limit even if it arrives early.

Compare that with Chatwoot, which caps agents at two and conversations at five hundred, or Crisp, which caps seats at two and leaves conversations open. Every free tier in this category chooses which meter to tighten, and Tidio tightens the one that scales with success.

How it compares

tawk.to is free forever with unlimited conversations and unlimited agents, with a rougher interface.

Crisp offers unlimited conversations but only two seats.

Smartsupp allows 25 conversations and one operator, so Tidio is twice the volume with ten times the seats.

Tidio is the middle of the free tiers: less generous than tawk.to or Crisp on conversations, more generous on seats.

When it is enough

A small shop fielding fewer than two conversations a day, where several staff might need to answer one occasionally.

A pre-launch site that wants the widget installed and working before traffic arrives.

Anyone who wants live chat and ticketing in one free product without a conversation-heavy business.

When it stops being enough

The fifty-first conversation, which for a growing site may be within the first month.

When you want the AI to keep answering after the one-off allowance is spent.

When you need advanced analytics, permissions or automatic assignment, all of which start at Growth.
