- Description: Same plan name, same $19.99 value, fewer models. Google's own Antigravity docs list four models a promotional Pro plan cannot reach.

**Google AI Pro sold on a phone promotion is not the same product as Google AI Pro paid monthly. Google's Antigravity documentation lists four reasoning models that a Pro trial cannot reach: Gemini 4 Argon unless the device qualifies as an eligible premium device, and Claude Sonnet 5.5 and Opus 5.5 at all, since those are marked non-trial subscriptions only. The older Claude 4.6 models that trials can reach are scheduled for removal on 2 November 2026.**[1](#sources)

This matters this week for a specific reason. The Pixel 10 Pro promotion, which grants twelve months of Google AI Pro at no charge, must be redeemed by 31 October 2026\. Anyone taking it up before that date is taking up a promotional plan, with the gaps listed below.[2](#sources)

## The model table, as Google publishes it

| Model | Free and AI Plus | Google AI Pro | Ultra |
| ----------------- | ---------------- | ------------------------------------------ | ----- |
| Gemini 4 Argon | No | Paid, or trial on eligible premium devices | Yes |
| Gemini 3.8 Flash | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Claude Sonnet 5.5 | No | Non-trial subscriptions only | Yes |
| Claude Opus 5.5 | No | Non-trial subscriptions only | Yes |
| Claude Sonnet 4.6 | Yes | Yes | No |

**Prices measured on 27 October 2026.** Vendor plan terms, allowances and prices change without notice, so treat every figure on this page as a dated snapshot rather than a permanent fact. Where a number here differs from the vendor's own pricing page, the vendor's page is correct and the figure above is simply older than it.

The Antigravity page separates Google AI Pro into two columns, Trial and Paid, which is the clearest statement Google has published that the two are different products. The footnotes do the rest. Argon carries a dagger: available with paid plans or on trial with eligible premium devices. The Claude 5.5 models carry a double asterisk: available on Google AI Pro for non-trial subscriptions only.

Google does not define what an eligible premium device is. That is the sentence the footnote leaves out, and it means a promotional subscriber cannot tell from the documentation whether they qualify.

## The 2 November deadline nobody has priced in

Three models in that table carry a single asterisk and a removal date. Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.6 and GPT-OSS 120b will be removed from Antigravity on 2 November 2026.

For a trial subscriber the arithmetic is uncomfortable. The Claude 5.5 models are closed to trials. The Claude 4.6 models that trials can use are being withdrawn in days. Argon is conditional on a device definition Google has not published.

What remains unconditional is Gemini 3.8 Flash. That is a capable model and it is the same one the free tier gets, which is the point worth sitting with: after 2 November a promotional AI Pro plan that does not qualify as a premium device may be choosing between a model the free tier also has and nothing else.

## What the promotion actually promises

Google's own offer terms are precise about price and silent about models. The twelve-month offer requires a Google Payments account with a qualifying payment method, applies to purchases of the Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro Fold or Pixel 10 Pro XL, and must be redeemed before 1 November 2026 according to the terms page, while the press and the Pixel support pages say 31 October at 11:59pm PT.

That discrepancy is worth knowing rather than resolving on Google's behalf. The terms page says November 1, the device documentation and reporting say October 31\. \*\*Redeem before 31 October\*\* and the question does not arise.

What the terms do not do is promise a specific model set. They promise a Google AI Pro subscription for twelve months at no charge, with the standard monthly price charged automatically when the period ends, cancellable at any time. Whether that subscription includes Argon in Antigravity is governed by the Antigravity documentation, which is where the trial column appears.

## Claiming is not the same as being safe

The offer is a good deal at the advertised price and this article is not arguing otherwise. Twelve months of a $19.99 plan is real value, and the terms are explicit that a valid payment method is required but nothing is charged until the period ends.

Three things are worth doing if you claim it. Redeem before 31 October regardless of which date is correct. Set a calendar reminder for roughly eleven months out, because the subscription renews automatically at the standard rate and no email will arrive to ask whether you want that. And check the Antigravity model selector for your own account after connecting, because the documentation will not tell you whether your device qualifies.

The selector is the only reliable test. It lists Trial and Paid as separate states, and it shows which models your account can actually reach rather than which ones the plan nominally includes.

## This is not the first time a promo plan was downgraded

The Argon footnote appeared after a run of complaints from promotional subscribers who found themselves excluded from the model while paying nothing but holding a plan named Google AI Pro.

Google created separate trial and paid columns rather than granting trials full access, so the underlying distinction survives the fix. That is the pattern worth taking from this: a promotional plan can be revised downward mid-term, and the mechanism is documentation rather than a price change.

Anyone who took up an upgrade request to reach Argon early should also check what happened to their remaining promotional time, because switching to paid ends the promotional period and there is no published path back.

## Who this affects and who it does not

It affects anyone on a phone-bundled or promotional Google AI Pro plan who uses Antigravity, and anyone who intended to start using it for coding work over the next year. Those are the people for whom the model difference is the difference between the plan being useful and being decorative.

It does not affect paid monthly subscribers, who reach Argon and both Claude 5.5 models today. It does not affect free users, who were never promised any of this. And it does not affect anyone using Google AI Pro purely for storage, Flow credits or the YouTube benefit, since none of those depend on the model list.

For the broader plan comparison, [the free Gemini app lost Flash and Pro on 9 October](https://efreedirectory.com/gemini-free-plan-limits/), which is the change most readers are still working out. The promotional plan question sits one tier above it and is the less reported half of the same month.

## What to check before 31 October

Open Antigravity and look at the model selector. If Google AI Pro shows as Trial, read the column rather than the plan name. Then look at whether your device is listed in the offer terms as a qualifying one, and accept that the terms do not resolve the eligible-premium-device question either way.

If the answer is that you land on Gemini 3.8 Flash after 2 November, the promotion is still worth having for the storage and the other bundled benefits. It is simply not the coding plan the name implies, and it is better to learn that now than in a month when the older Claude models have gone.

## Frequently asked questions

**Is a Google AI Pro trial the same as paid Google AI Pro?**
No. Google's Antigravity docs list them as separate columns, and trials cannot reach Claude Sonnet 5.5 or Opus 5.5.

**Does a promotional plan get Gemini 4 Argon?**
Only on trial with eligible premium devices. Google does not publish which devices qualify.

**When is the Pixel 10 Pro AI Pro offer deadline?**
Google's terms page says November 1, 2026\. The device pages and press say 31 October at 11:59pm PT. Redeem before 31 October to be safe.

**Which models leave Antigravity on 2 November 2026?**
Claude Sonnet 4.6, Claude Opus 4.6 and GPT-OSS 120b, which are the models available to trial subscribers.

**Can I upgrade a trial to a paid plan early?**
Yes, through a support request. Doing so ends the promotional period, and there is no published route back to it.

**Does an expired trial renew automatically?**
Yes. The offer terms state the standard monthly Google One price is charged when the offer period ends unless you cancel first.

*Model availability, trial and paid columns, and the 2 November 2026 removal date verified against Google's own Antigravity documentation on 29 October 2026\. Offer conditions and the redemption deadline verified on Google's offer terms page, which states November 1 while device documentation states 31 October; both are reported above.*
